Trump says ‘No one has told me I’m being indicted,’ as aide testifies to Florida grand jury

Donald Trump said Wednesday he was not told he was indicted until his spokesman testified before a federal grand jury in Florida investigating the former president’s handling of classified documents after leaving the White House.

“Nobody told me I was indicted,” Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform. “And I shouldn’t be” blamed “because I’ve done NOTHING wrong.”

However, prosecutors have notified Trump’s lawyers that he is a target in the investigation into the special counsel’s documents, NBC News reported.

Earlier Wednesday, Trump called the multiple criminal investigations into his actions “the greatest and most vicious example of ELECTION INTERFERENCE in the history of our country.”

And he said that the various federal and state prosecutors handling these investigations are “ALL FASCISTS.”

An FBI raid on Trump’s residence at his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Fla., last August turned up many documents marked as classified. The action came three months before Trump announced he would run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024.

Taylor Budovich, a key Trump aide, testified for about an hour Wednesday before a grand jury in U.S. District Court in Miami, according to a source who spoke to NBC News.

Budovich was asked questions about a past public statement he made on Trump’s behalf alleging that Trump did not keep classified records after his presidency ends in January 2021, the source said.

“Today, in what can only be described as a bogus and deeply disturbing effort to use government power to ‘catch’ Trump, I complied with a legal obligation to testify before a federal grand jury and answered every question honestly.” , Budovich said in a Twitter post after his appearance before the grand jury.

“America has become a sick and broken nation – a decline led by Joe Biden and the power-hungry Democrats. I will not be intimidated by this arming of the government,” he added.
