Regardless of the season, wine makes a great gift. But it is especially nice during the holidays, when we celebrate more often. Wine can not only enhance our favorite holiday dishes, but also become part of our holiday traditions, making our holidays even more fun.
But finding the perfect bottle to impress can be a bit of a conundrum. While many of us love wine, we don’t know enough about it to make a great bottle. For example, what are the best years for a particular grape or region, and what makes a wine a great value?
Also, like most of us, I usually go for the usual suspects like Pinot Noir, Cabernet or Chardonnay, but there’s a big beautiful world of wine out there that most of us don’t even know exists or know how to interpret bottle labels , even if we did.
Here is where Wine Access, a wine subscription and online wine store comes to save the day. They’ll make you look like a complete wine expert, whether you’re buying for yourself or others. It really is the best resource for finding the best wine for gifts!
How is accessing wine different from buying wine at my local liquor store?
Wine Access has a command Master Sommelier, Master of Wine and International Wine Judge who combine their expertise and industry connections to bring you literally the world’s best wines that you simply won’t find anywhere else. They also get exclusive “access” to some unique, amazing bottles, many of which are limited edition and hard to find bottles. What’s even better is that they offer them at a huge discount.
How does Wine Access decide which wines are worthy?
The Wine Access team tastes over 20,000 wines a year! Only about 1 in every 18 wines makes the cut. These bottles are the best of the best, in terms of taste, of course, but also in terms of value.

Chardonnay grapes from the northeastern region of Burgundy, France, produce wines grown in soil littered with petrified shells and pieces of marine skeletons that give this wine its distinctive aroma. This makes Chardonnay wine more crisp and refreshing than most of us are used to when it comes to this grape. That’s good.
If you are looking for the perfect unoaked Chardonnay at an even better price, this wine is the perfect choice. The delicious Chablis wine, which was awarded 92 points by Decanter magazine, is a wine from Marot, one of the most respected Chablis producers. One contributor declared this wine to be, “One of the best Chablis I’ve tasted this year. Now I regret buying more.” This is the perfect wine to pair with oysters or other festive seafood platters this season.

Cantina di Montalcino is Wine Acesses’ best-selling Brunello of 2021 and provides a level of value you rarely see anywhere near $35. Ideal spring rainfall and a warm, dry summer contributed to a near-perfect grape growing season in 2016 in the province of Siena, located about 80 km south of Florence in the Tuscan wine region. Guilty called 2016 “time for Montalcino to shine”. A wine enthusiast called it “a Brunello lover’s dream”. One sip from this bottle and you’ll no doubt agree.
Wine Label Fact: DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita) on the label means that the winemakers followed the strictest Italian wine regulations. Currently, there are only a handful of Italian wines eligible for DOCG status.
