For a well-made, thoughtful science fiction that takes care not to allow meditations to exceed the value of entertainment, Archive is a great cry. Gavin Rotary’s British directorial debut plays Theo James as a scientist working to make AI as human as possible. His reasons are hidden, personal and will certainly put a wrench in the work. By making comparisons to Ex Machina, Archive is guaranteed to tell stories with a keen focus on the character.
