move, Fisher-Price toy set, Ted Lasso found another way to perpetuate himself. EA Sports said on Wednesday that AFC Richmond and his beloved Coach Lasso will be playable characters in FIFA 23. The game is due for release on September 30 and marks the final installment in the series.
Fans can take on the role of their favorite hound from the Apple TV Plus show, including Roy Kent, Jamie Tartt, Sam Obisanya and Danny Rojas. According to EA, players can use different game modes to become Ted Lasso or AFC Richmond, such as Career Mode, Kickoff, Online Friendlies or Online Seasons. The edition will also come with customizable kits for the fictional football club, as well as tiffes (aka card displays and/or banners in the stands). It will also include the world famous Nelson Stadium.
Players have the option to choose Ted Lasso to lead AFC Richmond or another team in FIFA. You can also choose a different coach for the Greyhounds, make your own manager or create a player from scratch to join the team.
Ted Lasso is coming off a round of Emmy wins this year, picking up 11 awards for show and cast. Star Jason Sudeikis expressed his excitement for EA’s upcoming game release, while Brett Goldstein joked that he doesn’t put the Roy Kent CGI rumors to rest.
“I am truly happy and deeply grateful to have had many special moments in my career so far and I consider this experience to be one of the best,” Sudeikis said. “As long-time fans of EA Sports FIFA, having Ted Lasso and the entire AFC Richmond team in the latest version of the game is truly a dream come true for me and the rest of the guys.”
In a statement, Goldstein added: “It’s so great to be at FIFA. I’m not sure it’ll help dispel the CGI rumors, but damn, it’s totally worth it.”
