Piers Morgan announced on Twitter on Friday that his “world exclusive” interview with porn star Stormy Daniels has been postponed “due to some security issues that have arisen”.
“I hope it’s okay,” wrote the British newsman.
Morgan did not elaborate on the issues, and Daniels has not commented on social media.
A Manhattan grand jury on Thursday indicted former President Donald Trump for his role in a $130,000 hush money payment to buy Daniels’ silence about an alleged affair, prompting heightened security in New York ahead of the expected arrest of Trump on Tuesday.
Morgan’s interview with Daniels for his show Piers Morgan Uncensored — which airs on the Fox Nation streaming service in the United States — was advertised repeatedly on the program’s social media accounts.
“This is the indictment that shook the world … and tonight Piers Morgan interviews the former elderly star at the center of it all,” read one post.
“Piers Morgan speaks to the woman at the center of the Donald Trump indictment in a last-minute world exclusive,” said another.
Earlier on Friday, The Times of London published an interview with Daniels in which she described the accusation against Trump as a “justification.”
“I fully understand the insanity of being a porn star. But it is also poetic; that pussy got back up,” she said, later expressing fear of the division it could cause across the country.
“Whatever the outcome, it will cause violence and there will be injury and death,” Daniels predicted. “There is potential for a lot of good to come out of this. But either way, a lot of bad will come of it.
