The scrolling feature on your iPhone is something you probably don’t think much about. In fact, the experience is so seamless that it’s easy to find yourself scrolling through social media dooms for hours, or even working your way through a long email until you realize you need to go back to the top of the page. Then what? Are you endlessly scrolling all the way back?
The answer is no. This is because there is a hidden solution that is both simple and easy to remember. You just tap your iPhone once, but you have to hit the right spot and the device will instantly jump you to the top of your page. Here’s where you need to tap depending on the iPhone model you’re using.
Tap the top of the screen to make iPhone scroll to the top of the current page.
-
If you have an iPhone 14, you can tap either side of the Dynamic Island and the phone will instantly scroll up.
-
With the iPhone X or any model with the notch, you can tap on either side of the notch.
-
If you have an older iPhone without Dynamic Island or a notch, you can accomplish the same thing by tapping the clock in the status bar.
The iPhone has many secret features that can be unlocked with simple gestures or taps. Be sure to check out how to use gestures to copy and paste text between your iPhone or iPad. Or read about how to quickly copy text from iPhone photos using its Live Text feature.
