
OpenAI allows users of its DALL-E artificial intelligence art generation program to edit images with human faces. The feature was previously banned due to abuse concerns, but in a letter sent to more than a million DALL-E users, OpenAI says it is opening access after improving its filters to remove images that contain “sexual, political and violent content.”
The feature will allow users to edit images in a number of different ways. They can upload a photo of someone and generate variants of the photo, for example, or they can edit specific features, such as changing someone’s clothing or hairstyle. The feature will no doubt be useful for many users in the creative industries, from photographers to filmmakers.
