Jeff Schell, the CEO of NBCUniversal, is leaving the company following an investigation into inappropriate workplace relationships, the company’s owner, Comcast, said in a statement Sunday.
In the statement, Mr Schell said today would be his last day and that he had had an “inappropriate relationship with a woman at the company”.
“I am truly sorry to have let my colleagues at Comcast and NBCUniversal down, they are the most talented people in the business and it has been a privilege to work with them for the past 19 years.”
Comcast’s brief statement did not say who would replace Mr. Schell at NBCUniversal, which he has led since 2020.
