CHERRY HILL, N.J. (AP) — Actor Gary Busey has been accused of sexual assault at a fan convention in New Jersey this month.
Buzzy, 78, was charged Friday with two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual intercourse, one count of attempted criminal sexual intercourse and one count of harassment, Cherry Hill police said Saturday.
The charges stem from crimes during the annual Monster Mania convention at the Doubletree Hotel Aug. 12-14 in Cherry Hill, a Philadelphia suburb, police said.
Buzzy, who lives in Malibu, California, was scheduled to be a guest on all three days of the event.
Police did not immediately respond to a message seeking details. It was also unclear whether Buzzy had an attorney available to comment on the allegations, and a representative did not immediately return a message seeking comment Saturday.
Buzzy is widely known as a character actor, mostly in supporting roles, although he gained attention and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his lead role in the 1978 film The Buddy Holly Story.
