First on Twitter on Tuesday that Black Adam will not be included in DC’s slate of upcoming films, which has been shaken up by James Gunn and Peter Safran since the two took over DC Studios in October., now Black Adam. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson revealed
“James Gunn and I connected andwill not be in their first chapter of storytelling,” Johnson wrote. “However, DC and Seven Bucks have agreed to continue to explore the most valuable ways that Black Adam can be used in future chapters of the DC multiverse. “
So Black Adam is out for now, but there is a possibility that he will reappear years from now. Whether Johnson can still play the character in the future — he’s 50 now, and that lumbering physique is getting harder to maintain over time — is another concern.

After a cameo in Black Adam, Henry Cavill was expected to return as Superman to face Johnson’s anti-hero. But Cavill himself appears as Superman, sort of like an actorlast week. Cavill played Superman since 2013’s Man of Steel.
“James and I have known each other for years and have always pushed each other to succeed,” Johnson wrote in his post Tuesday. “Now is no different and I will always root for DC (and Marvel) to win.”
Black Adam hit theaters in October, earning $391 million at the global box office. The movie got, with a 39% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, it fared much better with moviegoers, earning an audience score of 89%.
“I will always look back on the fan reaction to Black Adam with immense gratitude, humility and love,” Johnson said.
