Bizzare Facebook error breaks your celebrity post feed

Facebook is broken, and in a very unusual way. Starting around 11:30 PM PT on Tuesday, Facebook users started complaining about a strange bug: their feeds consisted of just random people posting on celebrity walls. Scrolling down my own feed, all I can see are posts from people I’ve never met to The Beatles, Gorillaz and System of a Down official pages.

DownDetector received a spike in complaints about Facebook, indicating a widespread problem. Judging by tweets from confused Facebook users, though, it doesn’t seem like anyone’s Facebook is down — just weird.

Taking advantage of the unusual problem, some users started posting memes on celebrity pages, like the one above. I’ve seen others jokingly distribute their Venmo details asking for donations, and others promoting their own small businesses.

Meta did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
