The movie night at my house is always the same. Someone offers comedy, but we can never find a good one. That is why this list now exists. Please.
At the time of writing, these are some of our favorite comedies that are currently available for viewing on Netflix. This is a mix of old classics with brand new editions that you should check out.
Okay, let’s get started.
Mitchell vs. Machines (2021)
Netflix
Mitchell vs. Machines is truly one of the most entertaining and authentic animated films of the last few years. Featuring a family unsuitable during a trip during the robot apocalypse, it is constantly sharp, fun and perfect for a family movie night. Everyone will like it.
Zoolander (2001)
Paramount Pictures
Comedy movies are no better than Zoolander. Unlike most comedies, it feels eternal. There are the most memorable moments, the best lines, the strangest performances. The whole movies are just perfect. It may be one of the best pure comedies ever made.
Don’t look up (2021)

Despite the fact that this film has huge flaws, I have “Don’t Look Up” both in my best science fiction films and in the list of the best comedies.
The film is patronizing and overly intrusive, but it feels important and undoubtedly a pure benefit, especially for scientists who are constantly banging their heads against the wall, trying to convey the impact of climate change.
Besides, it’s pretty funny. DiCaprio is great, as is Jennifer Lawrence. It also includes a great cameo by Timothy Shalame.
Brian’s Life of Monty Python (1979)
Netflix
Okay, now we’re talking. Brian’s life for me is the best of the Monty Python movies, with the Holy Grail coming close.
Both are actually available on Netflix, so you really need to watch both.
The Adam Project (2022)
Dawn Gregory / Netflix
Personally, I’m well above Ryan Reynolds and his stupidity, but if you’re looking for a fun-filled comedy action movie, you could do a lot worse than Project Adam.
I love you man (2009)
Paramount
For my money, I Love You, Man is one of the most underrated comedies. Hassle-free and entertaining, this is a film that essentially reflects the structure of romantic comedy, but is for friends! Friends men!
He also took advantage of two very useful performances by Paul Rudd and Jason Siegel. I love you, movie!
Nacho Libre (2006)
Paramount
This movie has been reviewed awful when it was first released in 2006. But these people are wrong.
Nacho Libre is too long and his extraordinary humor is not always reflected, but when it works, it really works. Following Jack Black in his quest to become a professional wrestler, this film is full of some of the weirdest fun moments I’ve seen in comedy.
Caddyshack (1980)
Warner Bros.
Caddyshack is now over 40 years old and I will not pretend to be well old because is not.
After all, it’s a legendary comedy classic, and you owe it to yourself to watch it, especially for Rodney Dungerfield, who just swings around the fences here.
The Hangover (2009)
Frank Massey
Comedies are really getting the worst of age, and The Hangover looks like it was made a million years ago, but it’s still absolutely in control. This is perhaps one of the most influential comedies of the 21st century. Zack Galifianakis is the real star here, but the whole cast represents him.
Stripes (1981)
Colombia
Stripes, who portrays young Bill Murray as an unlucky taxi driver who joins the army, is essentially the Animal House in the barracks.
He was extremely successful after his release and was truly a springboard for Murray’s career. Like Caddyshack, it’s hardly well aged, but it’s still worth it.
